  • Your use of the DevMetrics macOS App.
  • Your interactions with our website, devmetrics.app, including any analytics or other services we utilize.

Important Note: DevMetrics pulls GitHub pull request data onto your local machine. We do not store or process that GitHub data on our servers. You are solely responsible for any personal data you collect about others (e.g., employees, team members, or collaborators) when using the App, including compliance with applicable data protection and employment laws.

3. Personal Data We Collect

  1. Email Address: We may collect your email address when you purchase a license for the App, sign up for updates, or contact us for support.
  2. Payment Information: Payment details are handled by our third-party payment processor, Paddle. We do not store or process your credit card or other financial data on our servers.
  3. Website Analytics: On our website at devmetrics.app, we use Plausible, a privacy-friendly analytics service, to gather non-personally identifiable information such as page views, referral sources, and aggregated visitor metrics. We do not use cookies or tracking mechanisms that identify individual users.

4. How We Use Your Personal Data

  • To Provide and Maintain the Service: We use your email address to activate your license, provide customer support, and communicate important information about the App.
  • To Process Payments: Paddle collects and processes payments on our behalf. Your financial information is governed by Paddle’s privacy policy.
  • To Improve Our Website: We use aggregated, non-identifiable data from Plausible analytics to understand how people interact with our website and to enhance the user experience.

5. Your Role as Data Controller (Employee or Team Data)

If you collect or analyze data about your employees, contractors, or other individuals through the App, you are the data controller for that information. We do not have access to or control over such data. You are responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable privacy, labor, and employment laws, including obtaining any necessary consents or providing required notices to individuals.

Where applicable under relevant data protection laws (e.g., GDPR), we process your personal data:

  • To fulfill our contractual obligations (e.g., providing the App, licensing, and support).

If you export or store GitHub data from the App on your device, you are solely responsible for the security of that data.

Our App is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

12. International Data Transfers

If you use the App from outside the United States, your information (e.g., email address) may be transferred to and processed in the United States. We ensure that your data is protected in accordance with applicable data protection laws. However, regarding any data you collect through GitHub about individuals (e.g., employees), you control that data locally and are responsible for compliance with cross-border transfer requirements.
